SHATADOO is born in 2000 with the meeting between a wellknown didjeridoo master(Paride Russo) with a
percussion player, singer and actor from Senegal active since 1989 in Italy (As Niang)
and a trombone player and composer that, in his personal reserch between jazz, world music and contemporary music, has created lots of new projetcs concerning music with shells(Nijen Antonio Coatti).
The Shatadoo project is kind of a trip between different sounds and cultures: from the australian aborigenous patterns to the african melodies and rythm and to the sounds of the shells used by many different people all over the world .
In concert, and in the first cd intitled 'Shatadoo', the animals voices made with the didjeridoo are merging with the wolof songs togheter with the sacred sounds of the shells.
In the new cd intitled N'deissan! (an expression of joy in the mother language of As Niang) the Shatadoo-trio is interplaying with two very interesting and wellknon musicians like Gianni Gebbia on sax and Vince Vasi on theremin in a very creative collective improvvisation with the result of taking the archayk arketips to a contemporary acustic trance.

some tunes of Shatadoo are pubblished in the compilation 'Hanging from the sky' Artevento 2006.

Shatadoo is also in the compilation 'Circo Inferno Cabaret' volume3 produced by Santarcangelo dei teatri and distributed byFelmay 2006
